Example Meander Natural Bridge
NABSQNO 12S-683497-4271666. Juanita Arch is an adult meander natural bridge cut by Maverick Canyon through a meander of Wingate sandstone about 2 miles upstream of its juncture with the Dolores River in western Colorado. Although the opening seems small in comparison with the extent of the wall of rock it penetrates, Juanita Arch must be considered an adult because the abutments have retreated significantly from the streambed that runs between them. The result is a very respectable span of 100 plus feet.
The arch is shown as Juanita Arch on the Juanita Arch, Colorado topographic quadrangle. However, access to this arch is somewhat problematic and should only be attempted with someone who has been there before.
