Nevills Arch

NABSQNO 12S-608480-4145682 Utah     MAP

Nevill's Arch is located in an exceptionally beautiful canyon known as Owl Canyon in the Cedar Mesa area of southeastern Utah. It has a span of 140 feet (notice the two people standing inside the arch for scale). The hike to the arch is very beautiful but also very strenuous. It is 10 miles round trip to the first view of the arch (shown below). There is no obstacle to attaining the inside of the opening other than the steepness of the talus slope you must climb. An excellent description of the route can be found in A Hiking Guide to Cedar Mesa, Southeastern Utah by Peter Francis Tassoni. Photos and measurement by David Brandt-Erichsen.
