Fishtrap Bridge

NABSQNO 16S 743549 4118900 Kentucky      MAP

Fishtrap Bridge (KY-17) has a creek running through it and is a true waterfall natural bridge. It has a span of 77 feet, an opening beneath the span of 100 feet, a height of 22 feet, a width of 22 feet, and a thickness of only 4 feet! Notice the person in the photo for scale. The bridge is flat both on top and on the underside. It appears that at one time it would have been possible to drive a 4WD vehicle across the bridge (not a wise idea!), but the access is now blocked off for vehicles. The bridge is on National Forest land in Laurel County. Photo by David Brandt-Erichsen.
