NABSQNO 12S-694230-4057400A cluster of unnamed fin natural arches in San Juan County, New Mexico Photo by Jay Wilbur NABSQNO 12S-694230-4057400. Shiprock is one of the most famous natural landmarks in the United States. Three main dikes of basalt radiate from this volcanic plug. Each is riddled with dozens of small openings. None of these fin natural arches is very large. This cluster is documented with a single NABSQNO that locates the most accessible dike. The photo above is representative. All of these arches are on the Navajo Reservation in San Juan County, New Mexico. The services of a guide must be obtained to access any of them.
