HawkWatch International is an organization whose mission is
"To monitor and protect hawks, eagles, other birds of prey and
their enivironment through research, education, and conservation."
The organization maintains a field station in eastern Nevada in the
Goshute Mountains. Rob and Kathleen Jones recently visited the
station (Oct. '05). The hike to the station is a steep 2.5 miles; but
fortunately, the hike to the arch is only a quarter mile. Go to
www.hawkwatch.org for a map and directions. From the trail head,
the arch is on the left about a quarter mile up the trail. The arch is
in limestone, with a span of about 6 ft.
