From the “Y” (junction of highways 89A and 179) south of Sedona, drive 3.1 miles SW on 89A (toward the town of Cottonwood) to Dry Creek Road. Turn right onto Dry Creek Rd. and drive 3 miles to a T-junction and stop sign. Turn right onto Long Canyon Road and drive 0.6 miles to a trailhead for Long Canyon on the left . Hike up signed Long Canyon for about 1.5 miles as the trail enters the actual canyon. Look to the right,
going up-stream, for the keyhole in a red rock spire below a towering white cliff. You’ll see glimpses of this arch from several spots through the forest of Arizona Cypress trees.
