Aleson Arch by Stan Jones

Aleson Arch (formerly called Flying Eagle Arch) is on the rim of a small cove just uplake from The Rincon. It was officially named after Harry Aleson, pioneer Colorado riverman and Glen Canyon authority. The person standing on the boulder in the photo above is Bob Vreeland, who reported the span at 98 feet and cataloged it as number 7-12. The photo below looks eastward from the opening.
