Hell Hole Canyon, Aravaipa Wilderness

NABSQNO 12S-550725-3641645      MAP

Natural arch in Hell Hole Canyon, a side canyon of Aravaipa Canyon in the Aravaipa Wilderness, Arizona. From the eastern trailhead into Aravaipa Canyon, Hell Hole is the first side canyon to the north, 2.4 miles from the trailhead (it is 8.4 miles from the western, more commonly used trailhead). The arch is not visible from Aravaipa Canyon but can be seen by hiking a short way up the side canyon.

The eastern trailhead to Aravaipa is located about 8 miles NW of the townsite of Klondyke, which itself is reached via 40 miles of unpaved road. Permits are required from the BLM Safford District to enter this area. Photo by Bob Wenrick.
