Miners Needle Arch
In Arizona, drive about 8 miles S.E. on Rt. 60 from apache Junction (east of Phoenix) and turn left onto Farm Road 77 (Peralta Rd.). The Peralta trail head is about 6 miles up this road. There is a charge for parking in the lot. Several different named-trails combine to make a 10.2 mile loop. The shortest route to the arch is to take the right branch of the loop. The arch is first visible about 2 1/2 miles up the trail. For an informative description of Rob’s hike, in the Links click on Wilderness Vagabond and click on Reports and then Super Superstition.
