Johnson's Arch
JOHNSON'S ARCH The arch is located in southern Utah near the southern border of Snow Canyon State Park. It has a span of 102 ft. The arch was named for Maude Johnson, a plural wife of pioneer resident, Johnson, who built a home for his wife in the canyon containing the arch. To get to the arch, drive to the south gate of Snow Canyon State Park NW of St. George. Park in the lot about 300 ft. south of the gate (outside the Park) and cross the road to the east to the hiking information sign. The trail leads for about 3/4 mile around a fin and a short way into a canyon between fins to the arch. The arch is closed part of the year to protect wildlife and vegetation.
